SMC Stonecraft have been specialising in the cutting of, supply of and building of natural stone since 2003. Our story starts in 2002 when Sinclair was 15 and built his first stone guillotine before establishing SMC Stonecraft a year later.
In 2005 SMC Stonecraft employed our first stonemasons and in 2006, while still a teenager, Sinclair carried out all the stone work and repointing on the Old Mill in Claudy which came runner up in the prestigious ‘Northern Ireland House of the Year’ competition. For Sinclair, it was extremely important to ensure that as the business grew, the team had the same enthusiasm for excellence and craftsmanship that he had gained.
Over the next five years SMC developed our build and supply business sourcing interesting new stone products and winning larger and more complex projects. During this time, we invested significantly in facilities, machinery, developed major partnerships with Irish quarries and with suppliers from throughout the world.
Since 2015 we are proud to say our quality and craftsmanship has continually evolved which has allowed us to invest in transport as we develop our customer base to include working on multimillion projects in the areas of building, restoration and stone supply.
